About Comeback Yoga Classes
WHY YOGA?
Yoga has many benefits for your well-being! To name just a few, yoga can:
Increase Strength & Balance
Relieve Stress
Reduce Ached & Pains
Sleep Better
WHY COMEBACK YOGA?
Comeback Yoga classes meet the students as they are and tailor the physical practice to the veterans and military in the room. This includes awareness of seen and unseen injuries. Each class is unique, yet follows some basic guidelines that make them different from some other yoga classes. Plus, we don’t take yoga too seriously.
WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU HEAD TO a Comeback Yoga CLASS
The teacher will practice on their mat during the class. Meaning they will not be near you at any point in class.
No hands-on assists
Typically, classes are slower in pace
No matter the style, the practices aim to be simple practice that it is accessible to all in the room (Check out the Comeback Yoga Styles to help pick a class that’s right for you)
Teachers will use easy to understand and direct language
When it makes sense, they will offer you choice
HOW TO PREPARE
Wear comfortable clothes you can easily move around in, like sweats and a t-shirt
Eat a few hours before you plan to practice, some of the poses may feel less comfortable if you’ve eaten right before class.
If you are joining in-person, we will have extra mats and props. So unless you have a preference for your own, we’ve got you covered.
If you are joining online, it can be helpful to have (but not necessary) a yoga mat, two yoga blocks, a yoga strap and blanket. Some alternative things you may have around your house that you can use instead: toilet paper rolls instead of blocks, a scarf or belt instead of a strap, and a towel instead of a blanket.
