Maya has a passion for creating opportunities within the Grand Valley to help unite and uplift. Maya offers accessible/chair yoga for those who are new to yoga or with mobility issues as a way to nurture the mind, body, spirit connection. She has completed her 200-hour registered yoga teacher training and has been practicing yoga her entire adult life. She believes that this healing practice will have a positive impact for those who participate.
Maya uses clear instruction and the use of chairs among other props to aid in moving the body in a supportive and safe way through our yoga postures, making this class enjoyable for people new to yoga and for those who have mobility issues.
Like all yoga practices, chair yoga helps increase flexibility and strength, as well as improve balance and coordination. Through gentle, yet effective, movement and harnessing the power of your breath this is a great practice for decreasing stress and enhancing balance, coordination, and flexibility.
