Favorite Yoga Pose:

9-11 affected Kelly greatly. Watching first responders run toward the danger and having been married to a firefighter, she knew the toll those actions were going to take.

Watching young men and women go off to war in response to that attack gave her that similar feeling in her gut — it was going to take a big toll on those serving.

Kelly knows what long term exposure to traumatic experiences can do to a person because she is a survivor of chronic childhood trauma. While those battles are not similar, some of the results seemed to be.

Sometimes life sends messages in the strangest forms and Kelly's came in a short series of seemingly unrelated events. They all pointed her in the same direction — teaching yoga to those who had experienced traumatic events.

Kelly wants to share her knowledge of how yoga can help heal the seen and unseen wounds of trauma. Her classes are a mix of slow flow yoga, yin yoga, breath work and iRest yoga nidra.
