LYNDA M.

Lynda has been practicing yoga since 1993.  She has been teaching since 2005 in a variety of settings including wellness and recreation centers as well as county drug court.  She is currently studying Subtle Yoga and the neuroscience of how yoga affects our brains and bodies.

Her father was a Navy doctor, and when he was diagnosed with cancer Lynda became interested in practices and resources that could support him during treatment.  She eventually became a teacher in order to offer yoga to help with overall wellbeing as well as physical, emotional, and mental recovery.

Lynda teaches a gentle, mindful yoga practice that is soothing to the nervous system but also helps build strength and flexibility.  She teaches in a way that contributes to a sense of grounding and centering as well as overall wellbeing, and she provides various options for poses to suit individual needs.   Her classes are relaxed and friendly, and she loves meeting the mood and requests of the day.

JEN L.

Jenny grew up and went to pharmacy school in Oregon before moving to Colorado. As a pharmacist she observed that many of the things we medicate people for could be alleviated with lifestyle changes. The one option that really stood out was yoga with its many proven benefits - both physical and mental. It seemed this ancient practice was effective at countering modern day stress. In 2018 Jenny completed her 200 hour teacher training at Corepower Yoga in Boulder and she teaches Hot Yoga at Sol 19 in Longmont. She is honored to work with veterans as part of Comeback Yoga's team.

MELANIE K.

Melanie discovered her passion for yoga during her time as a professional modern dancer in New York City, connecting deeply with yoga’s mind-body healing power. She has been an instructor of yoga since receiving her 200hr RYT in 2015 and Trauma-Informed Teaching Certification in 2019. Her love of bringing movement to all people for its ability to nourish the mind, body, and spirit has led her to offer classes in chair and limited mobility yoga, gentle and restorative yoga, and strength-based flow yoga. In addition to her passion for yoga as an avenue for healing, she is a passionate Public Health Professional, working to integrate trauma-informed practices into both the social and healthcare systems. On her own time, she loves hiking, reading, and spending time with her sweet cat, Boo.

WENDY K.

As a retired Geologist, Wendy understands that the earth is constantly changing. This knowledge informs her yoga practice. The central theme of Wendy’s teaching is that yoga, meditation and study are self-care in a world undergoing constant flux. Through this awareness of eternal change, she believes we begin to understand and accept the evolving natural beauty of ourselves. It is her goal to encourage others to wonder, observe and marvel at the changing forces at work. This “metamorphosis” in thinking can help put into perspective how we, like the earth, can attain resilience and equilibrium.

Yoga doesn’t have to be fast or dull to be a fun and effective method to connect the mind and the body. During a typical yoga class, Wendy begins with orienting the mind to accept the practice and create a safe, supportive space. The core of the class focuses on asanas or poses. As one pose flows into the next we gain strength, focus and flexibility. Each pose is coordinated with breathing and focused gaze for developing concentration and vital energy. The class ends with a short meditation when we quiet the senses, calm the mind and relax the body. Special attention is devoted to alignment and safe movement. Personal acceptance and awareness through coordinating spinal alignment, breathwork and poses are of particular interest in Wendy’s practice. Wendy’s class is appropriate for all yoga practitioners, as modifications are provided throughout the class.

Wendy feels extremely grateful to be living life to the fullest in a beautiful place she passionately loves. Off the mat you can find Wendy skiing, hiking or exploring.

DANA H.

Dana is a veteran with 30 years of service in the Air National Guard, active-Duty Air Force, and Air Force Reserve. She has been teaching yoga for 22 years in base gyms, health clubs, yoga studios, aircraft hangar floors, conference rooms, schools, and community parks.

What draws Dana to the practice are connection, healing, and empowerment. Even when practicing yoga in a room full of strangers, the power of breath and positive energy can unite the group and generate empathy and compassion among the collective. This connection can lead to a path of healing for body mind, and soul, which can elevate and empower us to bring light where there was darkness.

I look forward to meeting and practicing with you.

ALI C.

Ali Calfee is a veteran, mom, and yogi.  She retired 4 years ago after 21 years in the

United States Air Force.  Her career in the military was influenced by “the family business” with both parents serving in the US Navy sailors and numerous family members in different branches! Helping people and serving have always been a cornerstone in her life whether through facilitating Resiliency Training or teaching Trauma Sensitive Yoga.  She is also a Master Resiliency Trainer for units at Peterson -Schriever Garrison.

Her favorite thing about yoga is that it creates a safe space no matter where you are.  Stepping on the mat is stepping into that space.

When she’s not practicing yoga, she’s driving the mom taxi around to after school activities and taking care of three cocker spaniels and her diabetic cat.

AMY D.

Amy came to yoga to find relief from back pain in 2002.  She has stayed with yoga because she finds the intersection of breath, movement and meditation to be transformative.  She enjoys the gift of this shared practice with playful preschoolers, mindful middle schoolers, and adults of every stage and age of life - even older adults well into their nineties!  Amy has been practicing and guiding gentle, trauma-informed yoga since 2010.

PATTI C.

In 2020, Patti earned her 220hr Yoga Teacher Training certification in Boise, ID.
